Once clearance for takeoff has obtained, your instructor will line up on the runway and take-off, climbing away from the airfield to a height of approximately 2,000 feet.

Once all the necessary in flight safety checks are complete, your instructor will demonstrate each of the primary control surfaces and then let you control the aircraft. All aircraft have dual controls, so there is no danger of getting into any trouble and, if you don’t feel comfortable at any point, just let the instructor take over.

Your instructor will guide you towards a nearby aerodrome where you will land and have a short break. Your instructor will buy you a drink and you will have an opportunity to chat with them about all things flying. Then it's back to the aeroplane for the flight home.

On landing back at base, your instructor will provide you with a Flight Certificate as a memento of your first flight.
